I’m going to get right to it in this article. Clue has a lot of versions, and my goal is to list them all in one place. So, what are all the versions of Clue?
There are over 100 versions of Clue so far. Every year, Hasbro comes out with more and more versions, which include updated versions of the classic game, new twists on the formula, and versions based on intellectual properties in TV, movies, and more.

A Quick Disclaimer About This Article
So, this article will always be outdated or incomplete in some way. New versions of Clue are coming out all the time. It’s also difficult to find every single version of Clue since this game has an over 70-year history (it was created in 1943 but not published until 1949). You can read more about Clue’s history.
However, just because something is outdated or incomplete doesn’t mean it isn’t useful. For example, old computers are outdated but they can still be used for plenty of things. And even a partial list still provides you with at least some data.
With that said, I’ve done my best to find every version of Clue I can. Plus, I want to explain what versions I’m including on this list.
Versions Of Clue That Aren’t Included On This List
Basically, this list won’t include versions that are only separated by year or small tweaks. For example, the original version of Clue has been in production since 1949, so there are plenty of printings of that game. It doesn’t make sense to include each and every printing of that game on this list.
Also, sometimes versions only included small tweaks to things like the way rules were worded or character names. In that case, I’m not including those versions on this list either.
In order for a version of Clue to be on this list, it has to meet at least 1 of the 2 conditions. Either it has a different name from other versions, or it is a major update to the game. If they don’t have 1 of those 2 things, then they aren’t on the list.
Why Are There So Many Versions Of Clue?
That’s an easy one: because the game is so popular. It’s also extremely easy for Hasbro to just throw a new theme on the existing core gameplay so they can market it to people who’d be interested in that theme. This often happens when a movie or TV show becomes popular, and that’s why you’re going to see a lot of those examples on this list.
So, are you ready to see what all the versions of Clue are? Good because there are a lot.
Here we go!
